Our Investigators attended IAFP 2017 annual meeting

The IAFP (International Association for Food Protection) meeting has grown over the years to become the leading food safety conference worldwide. Six investigators attended IAFP 2017 annual meeting at Tampa, Florida, July 9-12, 2017. Three investigators were from University of Arkansas (Drs. John Marcy, Yanbin Li and Ronghui Wang) and three investigators were from China (Dr. Wen Wang from Zhejiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and graduate students Miss Xingning Xiao and Haiying Pang from Zhejiang University). Miss Xingning Xiao won a Student Travel Scholarship Award and gave a poster presentation with the title “The Growth/Survival of Salmonella on Waxberry under Different Storage Temperatures and Package Materials”. Miss Haiying Pang gave an oral presentation with title “Modeling for Predicting the Growth of Salmonella in Chicken Fillets under Different Temperatures”. Dr. Ronghui Wang presented her research titled “An Electrochemical Aptasensor for Rapid Detection of Salmonella Typhimurium in Poultry Based on the Bifunctional Magnetic Nanocomposites”.
