On 27 January 2023, FAO/WHO announced the membership list of the Joint FAO/WHO Expert Meetings on Microbiological Risk Assessment (JEMRA). Dr Wang Wen, the head of Risk Assessment Group in poultry project, has been selected to be part of JEMRA Roster of Experts for a period of five (5) years (2023.01-2027.12).
JEMRA is an international scientific expert group that is administered jointly by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the World Health Organization (WHO) to provide scientific advice on microbiological hazards including expert advice on risk management options that are aimed at improving food safety. JEMRA is tasked with the evaluation of different aspects of microbiological risk assessment throughout the agrifood system.
The current roster includes 93 microbiological scientists round the world, 8 of whom are Chinese. Members of the roster will be considered for future activities of JEMRA (meeting participation, preparation of review papers, peer reviews etc.) according to the expertise required and in accordance with the procedures described in the FAO/WHO framework for the provision of scientific advice.
