ACS (American Chemical Society) is the largest professional organization with more than 157,000 members worldwide. Over 14,000 people and 250 exhibitors attended ACS 2017 fall meeting and more than 7,000 presentations were given. Four members of our project team attended ACS 2017 fall meeting and exposition in Washington, DC, August 20-24, 2017. Dr. Yanbin Li, Distinguished Professor, gave an invited presentation “Nanomaterials-based biosensor system for rapid detection of Salmonella Typhimurium in poultry supply chain” in the Session organized by ACS Division of Agricultural and Food Chemistry. Dr. Yingchun Fu, Associate Professor, Zhishang Li and Huang Dai, both PhD students, from College of Biosystems and Food Science at Zhejiang University, gave their oral presentations at ACS fall meeting. The titles of their presentations were “Electrochemical conversion of magnetic nanoparticles with multiple interfacial effects for biosensing of avian influenza virus”, “Biomimetic biomineralization-inspired hybrid electrospun-silk-nanofiber@metal-organic-framework membranes for universal water purification” and “Monitoring enzyme catalysis confined in nanochannels through catalyzed polymer deposition”, respectively.
