On May 21, 2018, the Forum on the Importance of Food and Agricultural Trade between China and the United States was held in Fisher Colloquium of Georgetown University, Washington D.C. The attendees included vice president of food safety for Walmart, Mr. Frank Yiannas, executive director of Wal-Mart Food Safety Collaborative Center, Dr. Zhinong Yan, director of international affairs of Wal-Mart, Mr. Will Watts, and distinguished professor from University of Arkansas, Dr. Yanbin Li. This forum was hosted by the Walmart Food Safety Collaboration Center, the US-China Agriculture and Food Partnership, and the Initiative for US-China Dialogue on Global Issues. The objective is to highlight the significance of food and agricultural trade between China and the United States, and to underscore the importance of food safety, improved traceability, transparency, and trust in the food system.
