Presentations at AAFP 2018 Annual Meeting

The Tenth Annual Conference of Arkansas Association for Food Protection (AAFP 2018) was held on September 17-20 at Fayetteville Town Center on the beautiful square in downtown Fayetteville, Arkansas. The conference focused on emerging regional food safety issues and the latest innovative solutions. Prof. Yanbin Li, Dr. Ronghui Wang, graduate students America Sotero, Wenqian Wang and Xinge Xi at University of Arkansas attended AAFP 2018 meeting and gave some presentations.

America Sotero, M.S. student in biological engineering, presented a poster titled “A portable impedance aptasensing system for rapid detection of Salmonella Typhimurium in poultry product”. Wenqian Wang, Ph.D. student in poultry science, gave a poster presentation titled “A LSPR sensor coupled with magnetic nanobeads-based immunoseparation for rapid and sensitive detection of E. coli O157:H7”. And Xinge Xi, Ph.D. student in engineering, presented a poster “A label-free impedance immunosensor based on multi-walled carbon nanotube electrode for rapid and sensitive detection of E. coli O157:H7”.

Wenqian Wang and Xinge Xi won the 2nd and 3rd places in Category 4 in the AAFP 2018 Student Poster Competition, respectively.
