Our graduate students have won awards for their research and design during online international meetings this year:
- Xinge Xi, Ph.D. student in biological engineering at the University of Arkansas, won the 1st place of ASABE 2020 Boyed-Scott Graduate Research Award (PhD Category), ASABE 2020 Annual International Meeting, July 13-15, 2020. Her research paper title is “A Portable Biosensing Device with Magnetic Separation and Quantum Dot Bead Labeling for Simple, Rapid, and Quantitative Detection of Salmonella Typhimurium”.
- Wenqian Wang, Ph.D. student in poultry science at the University of Arkansas, won the 1st place of IAFP-CAFPNA 2020 Student Presentation Competition, October 25-28, 2020. Her presentation title is “Application of Polydopamine Molecular Imprinted Polymer on a Localized Surface Plasmon Resonance Sensor for Detection of Multi-antibiotics in Chicken Meat “.
- Yafang Shen, Ph.D. student in biosystems engineering at Zhejiang University, won the 3rd place of IAFP-CAFPNA 2020 Student Presentation Competition, October 25-28, 2020. Her presentation title is “A Novel Optical Biosensor Based on Target-induced Immunomagnetic Beads Aggregation for Label-free and Portable Detection of Enrofloxacin”.
