The 1st project whole group meeting in Beijing

On October 19, 2017 in Beijing, immediately after the opening ceremony of Walmart Food Safety Collaboration Center, we had our 1st whole group meeting to formally launch the project for Poultry Excellence in China: Improving Food Safety in Poultry Supply Chains. Prof. Yanbin Li of the University of Arkansas and Prof. Ming Liao of South China Agricultural University co-chaired the meeting. In addition to those investigators who were with the ceremony, people from three poultry companies (Guangdong Jiangfeng, New Hope Liuhe and Fujian Shengnong) also attended. Prof. Liao presented the objectives, roadmap, work flow and timelines of this project and then attendees had a discussion on the project. During the meeting, Mr. Frank Yiannas, Walmart Senior Vice President, and Mr. Will Watts, Director of International Corporate Affairs of Walmart, gave a speech and answered some questions. After the meeting, the whole group had a picture taken together with Mr. Yiannas and Mr. Watts.
